Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who came out and to everyone that volunteered their time. We had a great day at the races! Thanks to The Bicycle Shop in Sarnia, who donated quite a few good draw prizes and their massive Kona tent to offer us a bit of shelter in the event of rain.

In true Devils Night fashion, some jokesters (an intoxicated man in a Gofer suit seen in the proximity)  had their way with the course throwing a curve ball at us in the morning. However the troops rallied, patched up the mess and got on with the rest.

The brave who showed up ready to race put on a great show and battled it out for pumpkin supremacy, dazzling on the whoops and burms of the BMX park and charging through the sand pit.
Further post race analysis to follow shortly in the next few days with some great pictures of the action.

A little fun in the sand.

I stole this from a friend on facebook but I can only hope that we can re-create half  of this madness in our sand pit. Oh, and if/ when it rains....

The guys and gals tough it out at the fifth race of the Ottawa Bicycle Club Cyclocross Series in Perth, ON

Registration

Registration will be on site for $20. This is a UCI event sanctioned by the OCA for insurance purposes, because Cross is that gnarly. So don't forget to bring your UCI license and if you do not have one, have no fear. One Day Event licenses will be available for purchase for 5 bones.

A Big Thanks

A big thanks goes out to our sponsor Mackenzie Milne for supplying the caution tape needed to mark the course. And they've supplied us with a bloody ton. Canatara is going to look like a mass murder crime scene by the time we are done.

13 Days 'till showtime.

Here's an asphalt section of the course. Parking by the beach. Take a right at the entrance. Start line across from the new BMX park in the field.

Angry pumpkins will be up for grabs on the podium. But we'll let you carve them yourself in case you want a happy pumpkin instead.

Course Map

* Note that the upper loop to the left near the beach has been omitted due to environmental considerations. We must keep our furry and/or feathered friends in mind. Please be aware of the fragile natural grass dunes near the beach and enjoy from a distance!
